LG Fashion Week, October 21st 2010 – For the fifth season in a row, I was given the exciting task of creating the music for the Joe Fresh Fashion Show. Joe Mimran and I have a great appreciation for the importance of music continuity in a show, making it a challenge to mix up fifteen minutes that speak to the audience.

In our initial meeting, we listened to Plastic Beach, the latest Gorillaz album (which I reviewed many months ago on this blog.) Within it, we found an opener and closer that would shape the mould of this show. The Gorillaz were in town at the A.C.C. only a week prior (picture below), and their show helped the creative juices flow even more.

Here are the tracks we selected, in order:

White Flag (feat. The Lebanese National Orchestra) – Gorillaz
My Heart Goes Boom (Les Boyz Electro Remix) – Luisa Pepe
5AM (Original Album Version)

[feat. K Flay] – SomethingALaMode
Cooler Couler (Ft Yelle) – Crookers
Glitter Freeze (feat. Mark E. Smith) – Gorillaz

During the dress rehearsal (shown here) we took our initial plan and made some major changes, removing songs and reordering the remaining ones.

The show was well received by a packed house, and both Joe and I were all smiles at the end of the runway.
